RAW DOG K9 started as a joke between two friends at a dog club.

Tomy V. and Matt trained together, worked their dogs, and kept running into the same problem—treats and rewards that were overpriced, overbranded, or filled with ingredients they didn’t want. They joked about making their own, and over time, that’s exactly what they did.

In the summer of 2025, an opportunity came up to bring those homemade goods to an NYPD Community Affairs event. Their first official event was “Paws for a Cause” on June 1st, 2025. The response from handlers, trainers, and dog owners was immediate and direct. People wanted simple, clean products made by people who actually lived the working-dog lifestyle. That response turned RAW DOG K9 from a side idea into something real.

Tomy V., Co-Founder and CEO, brings an extensive occupational and academic background in operations management and runs a tight ship. He oversees standards, compliance, logistics, and execution—making sure the business is efficient, consistent, and built to last.

Matt, Co-Founder, holds a degree in Biological Science from Farmingdale State College and has years of experience in the food industry. He leads product formulation with a focus on nutrition, consistency, and food safety, ensuring every product meets the same standards they expect for their own dogs.
